Maarian VPK:n soittokunta

Maarian VPK:n soittokunta will perform in the opening parade of the Baltic Jazz Festival! Once again, our traditional opening parade will be filled with joyful and rhythmic carnival spirit.

Founded in 1938, Maarian VPK:n soittokunta is the orchestra of a voluntary fire brigade based in Turku, with a long tradition of live music performance. The band is known for its versatile repertoire, ranging from jazz and swing to dance and entertainment music.

The ensemble adapts to different occasions, transforming from a traditional wind band into a swinging rhythm group. It performs at numerous events each year, from celebrations and parades to festivals and concerts. Extensive experience, high-quality arrangements, and strong ensemble playing ensure an energetic and atmospheric performance.
