Kimito Island Big Band

Kimito Island Big Band is an established big band with roots in the rich musical life of Kimito Island. The orchestra consists of experienced musicians from both the Turku region and Uusimaa, and over the years it has developed into a significant contributor to the region’s live music scene.

The Agent 700 Show is a performance based on the musical world of the James Bond films. Under the direction of Carita Lagerspetz, Kimito Island Big Band performs well-known Bond themes together with vocalist Clara Reinikainen. The stage will also feature Kimito Island’s very own Agent 700 and his Bond girls, portrayed by Simon Strömsund and Ida Törnroos-Strömsund. The Agent 700 concept was originally created for the 700th anniversary of Kimito Island. The performance consists of musical segments interspersed with short Swedish-language sketches with a local historical touch, combining the Bond theme with stories and settings from Kimito Island. The overall production is characterized by a balance of entertainment, musical expertise, and light dramaturgy.

The Agent 700 Show has received a positive reception in its previous performances, with particular praise for its engaging arrangements and entertaining character. Kimito Island Big Band offers a concert experience where familiar melodies and local stories intertwine in a unique way. Show will most likely be performed for the last time at the Baltic Jazz festival. The show at the atmospheric Mechanical Workshop venue in Dalsbruk begins on Friday, July 3 at 7:00 PM.
